Terms of Service
Last updated 16 October 2026
About these terms
Flock is software that helps churches run their congregation: members, attendance, events, giving, messages, media and more. These terms are the agreement between Flock and the church (and the people acting for it) that uses Flock. By creating a workspace or using Flock, you agree to them on behalf of your church.
Members who use a church's member app are bound by the parts of these terms that apply to them, and by their church's own rules.
Your account
The person who creates a church's workspace is its owner. The owner decides who else can manage it and what each admin can see and do. You're responsible for keeping sign-in details safe and for what happens under your church's workspace.
Information you give us about your church, including its legal and bank details, must be true and belong to the church. We may check it, and may hold back giving features until it's verified.
Plans, trials and billing
Flock has a free Basic plan and paid plans with more features and higher limits. A trial gives you a paid plan's features for a set time. When a trial ends without a paid plan, the workspace moves to the free Basic plan, and Basic's limits and fees apply from then on.
Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, to the card you add. If a payment fails we'll retry and let you know; if it still can't be collected, the workspace moves to the free Basic plan. You can change or cancel your plan any time from Billing.
Giving and payments
Giving through Flock (online giving, and bank transfers into your church's giving numbers) is processed by a licensed payment company, currently Paystack. Flock is not a bank and never holds your church's money: each gift is split by the payment company as it's received, and your church's share settles straight into the bank account you set up, usually the next working day.
A giving number (a dedicated transfer account) is a real bank account number issued for your church through the payment company. Money sent to it is recorded in Flock automatically and settles to your church's bank account like any other gift.
Fees on giving
Two separate fees can come out of a gift before it reaches your church's bank account. Both are shown before you set up giving.
1. Flock's fee
Flock's fee depends on your church's plan. On every paid plan Flock takes nothing from your giving, and covers the upkeep of your giving accounts and giving numbers itself. On the free Basic plan Flock takes a small percentage of each gift. The current fee for each plan:
| Plan | Flock fee on giving | On paid books | On paid courses |
|---|---|---|---|
There's no charge from Flock to set up a giving account or a giving number, and no monthly charge for keeping them. While your church is on a trial, the trial plan's fee applies.
2. The payment company's fee
Paystack charges its own fee for moving the money. Flock doesn't set this fee and doesn't receive any of it. As Paystack publishes it today:
- Bank transfers into a giving number: 1% of each transfer, never more than ₦300.
- Card and other online payments: 1.5% + ₦100 of each card or online payment (no ₦100 under ₦2,500), never more than ₦2,000.
This fee comes out of the gift before it settles to your church. For example, on a ₦10,000 transfer into a giving number, Paystack's fee is ₦100 and, on a paid plan, the church receives ₦9,900. On a ₦100,000 transfer the fee stops at ₦300. If Paystack changes its pricing, its new fee applies; see Paystack's pricing.
Every gift's breakdown (the amount given, each fee, and what your church received) is shown in Flock's giving records.
Paid books and courses
When your church sells a book or course through Flock, Flock takes a percentage of each sale, shown in the table above for each plan. The payment company's fee for the payment applies as well, the same as for online giving. Free books and courses carry no fee.
When fees change
Flock may change its fees, including the fee on giving for any plan. Before a change to Flock's fees takes effect we'll tell the workspace owner by email and in the dashboard, at least 30 days in advance. Gifts already made keep the fee they were made with.
Your church's data
Your church's data (members, attendance, giving records, media and the rest) belongs to your church. We use it only to run Flock for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for having the right to add your members' details, and for collecting them fairly.
Acceptable use
Don't use Flock to break the law, to send messages people haven't agreed to receive, to collect money under false pretenses, or to upload material you don't have the rights to (including copyrighted Bible translations, songs, books and videos). We may limit or suspend features, such as messaging or giving, that are being misused.
Ending your account
You can stop using Flock any time. Giving numbers and accounts can be closed from Giving Accounts. If a workspace breaks these terms we may suspend it, and we'll tell the owner why unless the law stops us.
Our responsibility to you
We work to keep Flock available and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. Payments depend on the payment company and the banks, and we're not responsible for their delays or failures. To the extent the law allows, Flock's responsibility for any claim is limited to what your church paid Flock in the 12 months before it.
